Reflections

i got lost doing some blog hopping and almost forgot to write my own entry. i don't know why i'm so drawn to reading the blogs of other mothers with special needs children. What's funny is that most of these children are small and their parents are just beginning their long journey down this road. i've been travelling this road for almost 20 years.

i suppose it could just be my way of reflecting on the last 20 years of my life and all the things i went through with Taylor. i remember all those emotional ups and downs like they were yesterday. Taylor has lived much longer than anyone ever expected. i guess maybe it gives me comfort to know there are other mothers out there who have the same feelings that i do. There are many people that are empathetic with my situation but it really does take another mother with a special needs child to understand completely what it's like.

Taylor's seizures have gotten worse and i never know what the day will hold for her. Reading these other blogs is my way of coping…i think.

Maybe its also a way for you to impart some words of wisdom to these mothers as well.

As you said it does take another mother with a special needs child.

And on that note i shall agree, it does another mother w/a special child. And i don't think it really matters exactly if the needs are similiar to those of your child or not; you both are in the same boat at some time. i don't know how many hours we have talked away about our two girls; granted they are vastly different and yet we found similiarities...
