So, i get home from the hospital yesterday and as i’m unpacking my suitcase, i see my books from Amazon sitting in front of Master’s “toy” cabinet. They are still in the box, unopened.
Now, i’m not stupid…generally, so i didn’t ask Master about them. i know that when he is ready to give them to me, he will. i still hadn’t mentioned them today either…he brought it up. He just had to tease me about my inability to sniff my new books.
Yes, i admit it. i’m a book sniffer. i can’t help it. To me, it’s the same as the “new car smell” to a car lover. i love being able to open a brand new book, look at the pristine pages, and then hold it up to my nose, very slowly inhaling…taking in all that printed page goodness.
i am pretty sure i came by my book fetish very early in life. i started reading when i was 2 years old. No, i’m not a genius, reading just came easy for me. i think i’ve passed that gene along to my granddaughter Ally. She is 18 months old and she can read a few words and she loves her books. i’ll wait until she is older until i introduce her to the world of book sniffing.
Whew…sounds like i’m describing porn. *laughs* While i may be playing it nonchalantly, yes, i am wanting to crack open the box and sniff my brand new books. i would say that writing this could hurt my chances of getting them anytime soon, but my Master already knows how badly i want the books.
Maybe he’ll be the “Benevolent Dictator” and not make me wait until my next birthday.

I think we will open the box and look at how pretty they are and let them sit there for a while, so we can enjoy the sight of them.

Anyway, I hope that you do get your books soon. I know that not only do you have that whole sniffing a new book fetish going on but those books contain stories to bring you to places in your mind that you've never traveled before.
