A New Direction

i already had a journal entry written for today, but have decided not to post that one. i think that i will start a separate blog site for dealing with the issue of being the mother of a child with special needs. This site is my journal and should be about the day to day things in my life.

Of course, my being a mother is certainly a huge part of my life but i can’t really link this to my other friends who are mothers of special needs kids. My being a slave infiltrates every aspect of my life and i never try to hide that. However, it’s not my place to make the other parents i know uncomfortable. Also, i have come across “vanilla” blogs that i would love to comment on, but i don’t want to do with my slave “persona”.

i am always open about my alternative lifestyle, but i think it should be up to the other person to broach the subject. i have no desire to force the way i live down the throat of someone else, but i will always answer any question that is asked of me. i didn’t mention my lifestyle to my 2 older girls until they asked me a specific question. Now they are comfortable enough with it to make jokes and ask anything.

i don’t go out of my way to hide my slavery. i have a sign on my desk that says “office slave” and the customers that see it think it is so funny. i wonder if anyone actually wonders at it’s meaning. i imagine we’ve had at least one customer in here that knows about the lifestyle. The sign, along with the eternity collar i always wear, have to have made somebody go…hmmmm.

I'm behind you 100% on your writing the separate blog; can't wait to read the first addition.

I hope for your sake though that the upkeep will be relatively easy.

hugs,
