It’s been a bit of a rough day. i had to call the surgeon this morning because Taylor started running a temperature and having increased pain. The doctor did call me back within 10 minutes. He really is a good doctor. He said he thought things might not go as smoothly as we had hoped because of how he had to do the procedure.
He had to cut some of her chest muscle to make a pocket for the implant, but that should keep it from falling down again. He said he also had to do a lot of suturing using permanent silk sutures so that it would be really strong.
Taylor’s incision was a little red around the edges this morning, so i have to check that often. i told Dr. Benton that i was probably being a little paranoid because of what happened after the previous surgery and he said that was okay, he was paranoid as well. It’s nice to have a doctor that shares your paranoia.
He wants me to call him in the morning and give him an update on Taylor’s condition and to see if the redness has progressed outward. If it has, he’ll want to see her tomorrow or Friday. i’m just hoping that the redness doesn’t increase and that it is just regular incision “stuff”.
Since Taylor has to be propped up at a 30 degree angle right now, i had her on the couch all day. It’s probably been a good thing since she has been very clingy today. She was even asking for her Daddy too. i think she wanted us both to be here at home. That is one of the ways that i can tell she is having some increased pain. She can’t tell me it hurts, so i’ve learned to read body language and her facial expressions. Sometimes she’ll even cry, which makes it easier for me. Of course, i don’t like her crying, but at least if she is crying i know definitely that she is in pain and i can give her the medicine she needs.
Master is on his way home and he has had a rough day as well. His sinuses are bothering him something fierce. i’ve got some Benadryl and some Sudafed ready for him if he wants it. That’s about all i can do for him. After 2 years of living with him, i know how he is when he is sick and i don’t take it personally. i just leave him alone and he will tell me when he needs something. We all handle being sick or not feeling well in our own way.

I hope she is not getting an infection again...
I appreciate your giving me space when I am sick. I hate sinus season and what it does to me, it is very frustrating, especially when I have such a busy job.
We will see what tomorrow brings...
