Respect...Or Lack Thereof

Respect: esteem for or a sense of the worth or excellence of a person, a personal quality or ability, or something considered as a manifestation of a personal quality or ability: I have great respect for her judgment; deference to a right, privilege, privileged position, or someone or something considered to have certain rights or privileges; proper acceptance or courtesy; acknowledgment; the condition of being esteemed or honored: to be held in respect.

i know this will make me sound more naïve than i am, but i just don’t understand some people who profess to be “real lifestylers” yet have no grasp of the word respect.

Specifically, the respect a Master/Dominant should have for another person’s ownership. i find it amazing that some claim to live the lifestyle for real, yet still try to lure away an owned slave from their Master. i get emails everyday from ‘dominants’ saying they want me, need me, have to have me. Yet my profile clearly states i’m owned and also very happy with my life. Of course, it's just not Dominants that lack respect. i see so-called owned sub/slaves behaving badly online and have witnessed it in person. That shows me they lack respect for their collar and the life they "seem" to have chosen. That is something i'll never understand.

i know, i’m on a rant. i can’t help it. It’s just what is driving me nuts right now. i see friends having to deal with the same issues and it’s just crazy.

i suppose i shouldn’t be surprised though. There seems to be very little respect anywhere anymore…online and in real life.

Okay, now that i’ve gotten that out, i feel better. So today’s entry is more of a venting than a journal, but i guess they are interchangeable on occasion.

Well, you know my take on RESPECT and it is not the song.

I completely agree, and disrepect is like anti-sub/slave behavior and any Master or Dom that tolerates it, does not understand the whole concept. Any sub or slave who does not understand it, is also quite mistaken.

And that takes me to that last part about respect in general. How about the bitch who cut me off, then caused a 4 car pile up, with a semi truck at the back.

Yeah, R.E.S.P.E.C.T. - for some it is just a song. For others like us, it is a way of life.

This slave squeeks with a similar rant. There is this thing today with respect that it is earned and not given as part of being a member of society.

If i pass you on the street or roadways O/one will always have my respect. It always has been for me that the moment i meet you i will treat you with respect; there is no reason not too. If i come to know you and find that the P/person is a phony and does not be honest and upfront with me, they loose my respect; it's that simple.

Respect is given freely and not as some gift. Trust is something that is earned and not automatically given.

my soapbox is back under the bed now too. Thanks for letting me share in Cruel Dark Knight's and your rants.
